I remember when I was a kid, I had a GameBoy and all, but when I heard about this system I just had to have it. I honestly don't know why, at the time I didn't know much about it, I knew it had Sonic on it and I love Sonic. Anyway, I finally found one at a local Game Trader-esque store (that's now closed, Rest In Peace :( ) and I fell in love with it. It's truely a great handheld system. Low colour count I guess, but no biggie. After so long a time I talked my friend into getting one and I bought a link cable, but I have yet to use it.. Enough about me! As I said, this is a great system, just because, it has a certain charismatic charm. The games are really fun, mostly arcade-ish games along with an ass load of casino games. There was also one RPG releasd in America (Bio Motor Unitron), Japan got a sequel and it really pissed me off that they didn't translate it. :| They probably got more RPGs too, I don't know. More importantly, it's home of a Sonic title, as well as some pocket versions of Metal Slug, their acclaimed 2D fighters, and various other SNK favorites. Overall I think this was one of the real attractions of this system, that is was basically a pocket version of all the arcade games we'd grown to love over the years. I'd love to say I dev for the system but I've honestly never looked into it. I want to, though, and someday I hope writing this page will drive me to do it. So at the moment, no deving info. Also no pictures! I'll take some later when I have a camera and my NGPC on-hand. It's a pretty blue one with this huge scratch on the bottom of the screen it got from coming in contact with a sharp screw. :( Well most importantly the games, at the moment I've been working on one, I'll get to others soon enough, I'm sure. |
